kooky indie psych-pop
heard a snippet of this when the album got previewed at red rocks and i was SOOO EXCITED when it finally dropped!! this is probably my favorite pipe-eye song! so groovy so fun :)
experimental/psychedelic pop
rubber oh (the side project of pigsx7 guitarist sam grant) is criminally underrated. if you like this, also check out the mapmaker which shares a bassline with humans (live version bc it's cooler), from the album prior (strange craft). that album is a bit more kooky and less dark and might be a better entry point, depending on what you're into
noise rock
possibly one of my favorite songs ever. the bass tone will rattle your bones. it's got an unnerving slow build to it that eventually explodes and ties together the fucked up verses
gloopy glorpy lo-fi psych rock
my jaw dropped the first time i listened to this. the bassline got me oh my goddddd. so good. this song is so full of whimsy and it's so weird and it scratches my brain in just the right way
experimental rock
this album broke me tbh (in the best way). i highly recommend checking out the genius lyrics page for it! it's a heavy concept record and it really elevates the experience if you like.. understand what's happening. the lyrics are often formatted like a play, and there's lots of callbacks if you're into that sort of thing. my other favorite from the album is white tubes if you wanna hear more!
psychy blues rock
one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite bands! it takes a second to get to the chorus but when it does it's like a big swirling colorful explosion of sound. to me. don't know what the fuck he's talking about but it hits something within me. got to learn a bit about buddhism while trying to figure it out. peak
indie rock
love when a song drops exactly when you need it! this is just such a cool song. instantly became one of my favorite wolf alice tunes
psychedelic space trip
just a blissful ride of a tune. it floats through a few phases and they're all so good
neo-psych/funk
holy cow this was a treat to listen to for the first time. lady and man is my favorite khruangbin song and this version makes it so much better
indie rock
oh my god. this has to be the best song wolf alice have ever put out. lyrical masterpiece. tasty riffs. another song that switches up its sound as it goes. hits a little too hard unfortunately but They Get It
microtonal psych rock
unbelievable song and unbelievable music video. this is one of my favorite microtonal gizz tunes :)
post-punk
this is the sonic equivalent of getting hit by a car. i love tv priest.
