this was a dinked edition exclusive, limited to 500 copies. the cool part about this record isn't the record itself (though it is pretty cool), but rather the extras it comes with. you rarely see artists/labels have this much fun with a pressing and i want to see way more of it. it comes with a jigsaw puzzle, lyric book, and the inner sleeve doubles as a color-by-numbers and band-themed crossword puzzle. bit unwise of me to put this one first because everything else will look boring in comparison
lord how i want this record. the cheapest copy on discogs is a cool $400 though so... ouch!! no other variants of this album live up to this one. it matches the album cover perfectly and the (triple!) gatefold is.. fucking massive. i have a high res copy of it and it's 158mb. there's so much detail in it!
side A is The Wizard and the Seven Swine, pigsx7's 22-minute debut single. side B is some bonkers etching work. both the cover art and the etching art were done by drew millward, who's worked with the band a few times throughout their career. i have a shirt with his poster art for them and it's so cool :)
the song was originally put out in 2013 on a split LP with the cosmic dead. 7 years later, they remixed it and repressed it on etched vinyl.
i'm sooo sad this was limited to 50 copies because it's the coolest. cool liquid filled records like this are always super expensive though so maybe it's a blessing in disguise for my wallet. i think this originally sold for $110
i also always forget it has a pop-up in the gatefold until i check the photos lol
shoutout to the record store in germany who said they had this specific pressing but actually only had the regular white vinyl! because now i just have the regular white vinyl. the hunt for the pretty holographic sleeve and signed inner sheet continues.
hey it's the album i named this site after! i love it so much
every variant of this record is named something gross and gory (examples include blood salad, exposed entrails, and blood and guts) but this one is my favorite. at first it looks like a dark red opaque vinyl of sorts, but when you hold it up to light it looks like a slab of.. blood. or something. gross in the best way possible.
it also comes with a bonus cd (and a cool postcard)! my favorite!! it's called off cuts and has 6 session takes of songs across their 3 (at that point) albums. the only issue is international shipping would make it about a $70 record in total. ouch :(
SURPRISE there's a vinyl version of it!! which is something i didn't know until maybe a week ago! it's still expensive to ship to the US but... so pretty...
